PFIM™ Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP) Software
Multiple Risk Algorithms

PFIM™ Gas Pipeline Facility Risk Models
Includes multiple off the shelf risk algorithms for any type of gas (and liquid)
pipeline facility:
‣ Gas Distribution Lines
‣ Gas Transmission Lines
‣ Gas Gathering & Gas Production Lines
‣ Process Plant & Power Plant Gas Utility Lines
‣ Regulator Station & Compressor Station Facilities
Risk algorithms are designed to leverage the latest industry risk assessment
methodology developed by Mr. Kent Muhlbauer, author of "Pipeline Risk
Management Manual".
Risk algorithm variables and attributes are based on 49CFR Part 192, ASME
B31.8S, and GPTC DIMP Appendix Guideline.
Flexible component hierarchy to organize pipe segments or station facility
data by any design or geographic parameters.

PFIM™ GIS Data Management and Visualization
Distribution system risk databases are easily populated in PFIM™ via
ArcView™ shapefiles from Internet datasets (e.g., populated areas, soils).
Distribution mains and services, and risk results, are displayed over satellite
map images using basic GIS tools.
Distribution risk results are also displayed in various tables, graphs,
histograms, and matrices for risk analysis and identification of effective
Preventative and Mitigative Measures.
Gas distribution mains and services can be grouped by subdivision, pipe
material, operating district, plat sheet or any user defined criteria.

PFIM™ – Helping You Drive EFFECTIVE Action
Evaluate total Risk of Failure (ROF) for each gas pipeline facility based on
Likelihood of Failure (LOF) and Consequence of Failure (COF) risk.
Assess the LOF for your asset in terms of seven specific integrity threats
(e.g. Corrosion, Pipe Design, etc.).
Provides powerful analysis tools (e.g. risk driver drill down, interactive
threats, ranking matrix graphs) that help you identify which Preventive and
Mitigation Measures will be most effective in lowering the total ROF.
Combine distribution system risk results with historical leak severity indices
to create a risk-based leak survey program.
Manages historical results sets to show risk improvement – great in an audit
environment.
Leverage all you know about your gas pipeline facilities – turning gathered
knowledge into Integrity Management.
